Contour path calculator

Poorly dimensioned drawing? Enter what it says - the missing points drop out. Including the tangent points of radius and chamfer.

Leave blank what you don't know. Angle and length describe the segment from the previous point to here - for point 1 they stay empty. Direction angle: 0° = towards +Z (right), 90° = towards +X (away from the center), 180° = towards −Z (left, the normal case), −90° = towards the center.

Chamfer: Enter only the size (2) for equal legs - at a square shoulder that is exactly 2×45°. At an angled corner this gives the angle bisector, not 45°. If you need a specific chamfer angle there, add it as on the drawing: 2×45. The angle follows the same convention as selected above.

How it's meant to work

Example: The drawing gives Ø30, Z−20, a 30° taper and Ø50, the end at Z−60. Where the taper ends isn't stated.

Row 1: Ø30, Z0 - row 2: Ø30, Z−20, corner radius 3 - row 3: Ø50, Z empty, angle 30 (drawing angle), corner chamfer 1.5 - row 4: Ø50, Z−60.

Result: the taper ends at Z−37.32, the R3 starts at Z−19.196 and the whole path is defined.

Note: all cutting and material values are guide values. The tool or machine manufacturer's recommendations are decisive.
